The canteen is a daily ritual to appease the sugar-crazed campers. The bell beckons the campers, and they gather in the rec hall. They then proceed to “sing” the camp song birds in the wilderness. After a few repetitions, the campers are each allowed the cunsumption of one soft drink and one candy bar.
